Brigaldara is one of the best wineries of the Valpolicella area. Owned by the Cesari family since 1929, the estate makes some of the purest, more graceful examples of Valpolicella and Amarone (especially) around, providing a welcome alternative to many of the area’s wines that boast much riper mouthfeels, thicker textures, and higher alcohol levels but that when made by lesser lights can be over the top.

A great Alsace estate that speacializes in classically dry terroir wines.

Bandol is a unique part of Provence, where not just wonderful Rosé wines but very fine reds and whites are made as well. Domaine Tempier is a benchmark Bandol estate that deserves credit not just for its wines but for having moved to save and promote Mourvèdre.
